Work ethic should have a higher value than talent. At one point in time I might have had both, but perhaps one too many A's on projects started the night before started me down the path of "everything should occur so easily".   So when I got my DSLR 7 years ago, I expected a class or two would just rocket my pictures into professional category.  Yeah. Instead, photography is one of the most frustrating things ever to happen to me.  It's like typing with boxing gloves on--I can't convey my thoughts properly, and the end result usually comes out a blurry mess.  A reasonable person would, I don't know, research technique? Take more photos? But

I got my first feature in a gallery on DA after 6 years - I feel like I've arrived :D.   I mean, I've had my share of favorites, so it's not like people haven't already liked my work.  But the lion's share of my views come from a picture I took of my cousin's feet, and while I love the photo for its composition and color, I found out quickly that most of the viewers just really love feet regardless :doh:. Not exactly a measure of skill.  So, until I find out that clocks are also some new fetish, being asked to include my photo in a group is a totally new experience.  I feel awesome :D

Because resolutions work better if you make them public.  So I've heard. 1. Brush my teeth twice a day. 2. Stretch daily. 3.  Take some damn pictures. Guess this means I'm back.
